

Marian was born on March 5, 1922 in Foreston, MN, in her Grandmother’s home. Her parents were Lawrence Goad and Matilda (Clayton) Goad. She had one brother, Robert Goad. Marian married Kenneth J. Berry, on August 11, 1942 on her parent’s farm, outside Foreston, MN. Marian graduated High school in Milaca, MN. She attended college at Union College then graduated with a BA degree from the University of Maryland. She graduated from Rutgers University, NJ with a MA degree in Guidance and counseling. She nearly completed her PHD at Bowling Green University in Ohio. She dedicated her life to the Lord and worked as a missionary in Africa from 1948 to 1953 where she founded Chebwai Mission Girl’s School. After returning to the United States, she became a teacher at both the elementary and high school levels. She then became the assistant superintendent of education for the Ohio conference and then for the Iowa-Missouri conference of Seventh-day Adventists, where she retired in 1982. After retirement she authored 14 books, published numerous articles and made numerous videos. Her books have been translated into 7 languages and she presented lectures in 65 countries. Her greatest joy was sharing her knowledge and skills with others to help them understand more fully the Inspired Word of God.
Marian is survived by her son, Daniel Berry and her daughter in-law Pamela Berry, and her three Grandchildren: James Berry, Melissa, Berry, and Robert Berry.
