Dale Mitchell Robinson

Dale M. Robinson was born on August 15, 1950, in Olathe, Kansas. He was the third child out of the four Robinson boys born to Albert Harry Robinson, Sr., and Florence Willa Mae Robinson where he attended public schools in Olathe, Kansas. Immediately following high school Dale started working at Sears when he met the love of his life Lana (Dillard) Robinson. Dale and Lana were married on March 27, 1971, where that matrimony lasted for 51 years.

After his marriage to Lana, Dale started a career working at the Delco Battery Plant/Delphi Corp until they closed the plant on February 7, 2006. After the Delphi Plant closer, Dale continued his career with GM in the Fairfax District in Kansas City, Kansas. While being employed at GM in Fairfax, he became the Vice President of the United Auto Workers Union (UAW), where he was employed for over 30+ years.

During his marriage to Lana, they raised two children Ryan and Samantha, which they cherished and were extremely very proud of. Dale was a beloved member of Second Baptist Church of Olathe where he was huge supporter of “The Pantry of Love” where he was handy with building and providing supplies for the pantry, along with being an outstanding member of Cedar Beam Lodge of Olathe, Kansas.

Dale is remembered for his smile, his willingness to serve anyone in need, a devoted husband, loving father, a mentor, a father figure, and good friend. His humor and sensitivity and genuine interest in the lives of others was a large portion of who he was. Whenever a friend or family member experienced a significant life event, Dale could be counted on. He was a dear friend to many!

Dale is preceded in transition by his loving wife Lana Robinson, his parents Albert H. Robinson Sr., Florence Robinson, sisters ~ Delores Robinson, Shirley Bell, and Billie Graham, brothers ~ Thomas Bates, Delbert Robinson, and Prentis Bates

He is survived by his son Ryan Robinson (Teresa); daughter Samantha “Sam” Robinson, grandson Barrack Bennett-Robinson (whom he adored tremendously); two brothers Albert H. Robinson Jr. (Nette) and Gregory D. Robinson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted friends, and the Second Baptist Church community, whom all who loved him, however, remember God loved him first.
