

Helen was born in Maple Hill, Kansas on July 15, 1927 to Philip and Nannie Deiter. Helen was married to H. Robert "Bob" Kirkman on January 15, 1950 in Kansas City, KS. She worked for Boeing Co. for a number of years. She then worked for JC Penney Co. for 22 years before retiring. During her retirement she did product demonstrations for Crossmark Events Co. at Wal-Mart Stores. She enjoyed the job because of her many Wal-Mart and customer friends. She always had a smile when she was there and enjoyed meeting all the people who sampled her demo products. Helen loved walking, bowling and spending time with her family and friends. She attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Springfield, MO.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Bob Kirkman.
Helen is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Anderson of Springfield, MO; one grandson, Brandon Smith and wife Kelly of Fayetteville, AR; one granddaughter, Michelle Puryear and husband Shawn of Gravette, AR; and two great-grandsons, Mason and Gavin Puryear of Gravette, AR.; a brother- in-law; Dean Kirkman and wife Patsy; three sisters; Agnes Taylor of Kansas City, KS, Marge MacMillan of Kansas City, MO, Virginia Kramer of Westphalia, MO and a brother Richard Deiter of Topeka, KS, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2013 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe, KS. A reception will follow the services at St. Paul Catholic Church, 900 S. Honeysuckle Drive, Olathe, KS.
