Jessie Mae Gibson, 97, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 3, 2020. She will forever be remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to everyone she knew.
Jessie was born on November 20, 1923 in Lancaster, Kentucky to Charles B. and Mary King (Sutton) Aldridge. She attended and graduated from Lancaster High School. She was a member of Lenexa Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting.
Jessie worked as a factory worker on the assembly line for the Division of American Air Filter. She enjoyed spending time with her family and nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the time she spent with her grandchildren. She married her first husband Robert Champ on January 20, 1943. Together they raised their daughter Roberta. In 1955 she married her second husband Herman L. Gibson.
Jessie is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Aldridge, husband Herman L. Gibson in 1986 and her brother Charles (Mase) Aldridge. She is survived by her loving daughter Roberta Stauffer and her husband James of Olathe, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her two grandchildren Eric Stauffer and his wife Penny of Haleyville, Alabama and Tiffany Baker and her husband Jamie of Berea, Kentucky. She will be sadly missed by her four great grandchildren Bethany Baker, A.J. Stauffer, Rex Baker and Abby Stauffer.
Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Interment in Palm Bay, Florida.
