John was born on October 22, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was raised in Kansas City, was a graduate from the University of Kansas and went on to serve in the Navy.
He was married to his wonderful wife in 1962 and they spent their first 20 years together in Kansas and Missouri. In 1983, after discovering a love for the mountains, he moved with his wife and younger children to Utah and resided in that area for 40 years. John lived a life rich in love, family, friends, and faith.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Josephine Hauber, and his brother Robert Hauber. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, and their children: Mary (Petty), John, Matthew, Paul, Mark, Sarah (Molen), and Luke. John's legacy of love and wisdom lives on through his 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service to honor John's memory will be held on February 7, 2025. A visitation will take place at 10 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, located at 18335 W 168th Ter, Olathe, KS 66062. The burial service will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 8300 Quivira Rd, Lenexa, KS 66215.
