John C. Lane Jr.

John Charles Lane, Jr. was born January 13, 1964 in District Heights, Maryland. John resided at Winfield State Hospital and Training Center from September 1969 to January 1975. In January 1975 he moved to Parsons State Hospital and Training Center until moving to Community Living Opportunities (CLO) on June 15, 2002. Following the death of his parents, Debra Burnham became John’s legal guardian in July 2006. She and her husband, Stan, were strong advocates and caring friends to John. John resided at Community Living Opportunities until his death on January 19, 2015. John received the CLO Individual Achievement Award in 2004 and again in 2007.

John enjoyed long walks outside and at the mall, enjoying nature while sitting on the patio at his home, listening to music, and relaxing in his recliner. He especially enjoyed riding in the van to go out to dinner or take in other activities with his roommates.

A Celebration of Life for John Lane will be held February 26 at 4:30 PM, NorthStar Academy Chapel - 7725 W. 87th Street Overland Park, KS
