Joseph Macedo, 71, of Bucyrus, Kansas passed away at home on Saturday, October 22, 2022. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he knew.
“Joe” as he was known by his family and friends was born on March 12, 1951 in White Plains, New York to Alfred Rapozo and Liberata (Amaral) Macedo. He attended and graduated from Valhalla High School in Valhalla, New York. He continued his education at Westchester Community College. He served his country honorable in the U.S. Army. He met the love of his life, Sara Oleson. They were married on May 13, 1978 and together they raised their two sons, Michael and David.
Joe enjoyed the outdoors working in his garden, woodworking, fishing and photography. Nothing gave him more pleasure in life than the time he spent with his family. He will be sadly missed.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Cecilia Macedo and his brother Ernest Macedo. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years Sara Macedo, two sons, Michael Macedo of Edgerton, Kansas and David Macedo of Bucyrus, Kansas, brother Robert Macedo and his wife Barbara of Garrison, New York and his sister Patricia Aiello and her husband Paul of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Joe will be cremated according to his wishes. Inurnment service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2022 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery 150 Muncie Road Leavenworth, Kansas.
