

Joseph J. Ronnebaum, 91, of Olathe passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Olathe Hospice House. He was born May 17, 1925 near Baileyville KS to Joseph Sr. and Elizabeth Reinecke Ronnebaum. Joe graduated as Salutatorian from Baileyville High School in 1943.
Joe married Evelyn Lueger in 1947. They farmed near Axtell KS until 1963 when they moved to Olathe. Joe worked as a carpenter until he earned his real estate license. He then owned and operated Ronnebaum Realty and Ronnebaum Construction. He built many customers homes in Olathe and the surrounding area. After retirement Joe enjoyed woodworking, traveling, music theater and most of all spending time with his family. Joe often enjoyed writing poems to celebrate special occasions. He was active at St Paul’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He volunteered at Olathe Medical Center for over 15 years.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, his parents and sisters Agatha and Evelyn and his brothers Lenard and Kenneth. He is survived by his special friend Rosie Lingle, his seven daughters Betty (Gilbert)Heiman, Jan (Richard) Sutton, Susan (Rick) Sengstacken, Judy (Pat) Terick, Laure Ronnebaum, Nancy (Darrell) Coyle and Shelly (Rick) Vandevord. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 29th at St. Paul Catholic Church 900 S. Honeysuckle Dr. Olathe, KS. Entombment in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum 8321 Quivira Dr. Lenexa, KS. Visitation 5-7p.m. Tuesday, June 28th at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 E. Loula St. Olathe, KS. Prayer service to start the visitation at 5p.m. and the Rosary will be prayed at 7p.m.to conclude the visitation.
