Josephine Adair Lepore, known affectionately as OJ, passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on November 6, 1932, in Los Angeles, CA, she grew up in Houston, TX, and eventually settled in Olathe, Kansas.
OJ was a wise, resilient, gentle, generous, devoted, and faithful individual. She was married to Donald F. Lepore for over 50 years. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Anne and Lisa, her son Steve, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
OJ was an avid reader and bridge player, and she loved being around her family and watching sports. She was also deeply involved in her community as an associate with the Sisters of St. Joseph.
To say OJ fit into our family feels a little silly and redundant, but she really belonged with us, and we belonged to her. She had a strong head, heart, and will. We did not misspell JO; to those who knew her well, she was OJ.
The family extends their gratitude to all family and friends who constantly prayed for her peaceful passing. Her song, "Memories are Made of This" by Dean Martin, captures the essence of her life and legacy.
