“Judy” as she was known by her family and friends was born on October 17, 1947 in Dubuque, Iowa to Louis and Lorraine (Freiburger) Schmidt. She attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Key West and graduated from Wahlert High School.
After graduation she continued her education at Dubuque Beauty Academy. Judy worked as a Cosmetologist and then in the Restaurant business and the Grocery business.
Over the years she loved playing bingo, reading, baking, playing cards, entertaining family and friends, having her afternoon coffee with her daughter Carrie and date night slumber parties with her granddaughter Jaden. No one was a stranger to Judy. She will be missed by so many, but we ask that you remember all your joys with her, and remember to smile about the jokes you shared with her.
She will forever be remembered as a loving Mother, Nana and Friend to everyone she knew. She was such a blessing.
She is survived by her son Shane Asay of Gardner, Kansas, daughter Carrie Buttron (Chris Griffin) of LaCygne, Kansas and her step-son Eugene Asay of Tyler, Texas.
