Manoj George passed away on May 7, 2023 in his home at the age of 51. He was preceded in death by his parents Lilly and George Joseph and is survived by his wife, Kelli Oliver George, his children Arun and Anjali, and his sister Minimol George (Antony).
Manoj was born in Kottayam, India on February 23, 1972. His favorite memories were the summers with his cousins spent on his grandparents’ land (one cousin described it as a “summer long sleepover”). After high school, he attended IIT-Chennai and earned a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. For post-graduate study, he came to the US to attend Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. After earning his degree in Engineering Management, he moved to Fall’s Church, VA in 1998. While on a project in Kansas City in 2000, a mutual friend introduced Manoj and Kelli. They were married in Twin Mountains, NH in 2003 and made their home in Olathe, KS.
Manoj was known for his brilliance, strong work ethic, integrity, smile, and infectious laugh. Manoj’s passion was entrepreneurship. He relished researching an industry, figuring out the problems in that industry, and creating solutions for those problems. And as a serial entrepreneur himself, he loved supporting local businesses and enjoyed meeting fellow business owners.
Manoj’s greatest love was his wife and children. If he wasn’t working, he preferred to be home with his family and their menagerie of animals. Kelli’s happiest memories will be trying to make a meal in the kitchen amongst the chaos of Manoj, the kids, cats, and dogs underfoot.
Funeral Mass and Last Rites will be at 9am CST (7:30pm Indian Standard Time) on Saturday May 20th at St. Paul in Olathe at 21650 W 115th Terrace. Visitation will be at McGilley and Frye, 105 E Loula St. Olathe, KS 66061 from 1PM to 3PM, and a memorial service will begin at 3PM. The family requests donations be made to Harvesters in lieu of flowers.
