He graduated high school from Shawnee Mission Northwest in 1972, then joined the Air Force. Even without an official college degree, he was a professor at a local community college for a few semesters.
He had many careers in his life. Computer programmer, computer IT (his favorite advice being “turn it off and then back on”) poker player, gamer, and lab technician to name a few. He is remembered by all that knew him as someone who could always make you laugh and the “wise one” of the group. He could wow you with “news you can’t use” all day long and complete a Rubix cube in under 20 seconds any day of the week. He will be incredibly missed by all that knew him.
He was a proud Eagle Scout. He was also actively involved in Junior Softball League, a non-for profit started in 1969 by his dad. The league stressed fun. He kept the league going after his parent's death with a legacy of love for the game of baseball and the joy of seeing kids laughing and playing. The league completed its final season in 2002. He also played in a men’s softball league. You could hear him yelling for miles “Let’s Go You Animals!”
He is preceded in death by parents Bob and Jeannie Post, sisters: Suzi Post and Diane Post, brothers: Richard Post, James “BoBo”Post, and David Post, son, Damon “Eddie” Griffey and his beautiful granddaughter Erika Jaremko.
He is survived by his wife Ann Post, daughters Stephanie Post and Lisa Post-Jones (Loren Jones II) granddaughters Aaliyah Jaremko (Jimmy), Kennedy Atterbury (Kolten), Rylie Atterbury, Justice Jones (Josh), and Addison Jones, grandsons Drue Jones, Isaiah Jones, and Maxwell Jones. Great Grandchildren: Nataleigh and Isaac.
