July 27, 1949 to April 3, 2021
Shirley Ellen Slicer, 71, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by her
loving family on Saturday, April 3, 2021. She will forever be remembered as a
loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to everyone she knew.
Shirley was born on July 27, 1949, in Springfield, Massachusetts to Stanley J. and
Elizabeth (Smith) Raczka. She attended and graduated from Chicopee High School
in 1967. She worked as a Shift Supervisor for the Walmart Retail Store in East
Olathe. In her spare time, she enjoyed working on digital art and scrapbooking.
She enjoyed watching Science Fiction movies and TV shows. She especially
enjoyed the time she spent with her family playing Scrabble, and nothing gave her
more pleasure in life than the times she spent with her two grandchildren Brianna
and Sean. She will be sadly missed.
Shirley is preceded in death by her father Stanley Raczka and her ex-husband
Kenneth J. Slicer. She is survived by her loving son Jesse Slicer and his wife Robin
of Olathe, Kansas, two brothers Alan Raczka and his wife Peggy of East Hampton,
Massachusetts, Gary Raczka and his wife Sharon of Marine City, Michigan and her
sister Marlene Lebel and her husband Mike of Smithville, Texas, and her mother
Elizabeth Raczka of Bastrop, TX. Left behind to cherish her memory are her two
grandchildren Brianna Slicer and Sean Slicer.
Shirley will be cremated according to her wishes. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic
a “Celebration of Life” will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial
