Stanely E. Dalrymple,86, passed away on April 28th, 2026 at the Olathe Hospital. He was the oldest son of Maxwell and Vera (Grosse) Dalrymple, both of whom preceded him in death. Born in Tabor, Iowa on September 22, 1939. He left us leaving behind a life marked by service, dedication, and quiet strength.
Stanley was never particularly drawn to school in his early years, but at just 17 years old he made a life changing decision to join the United States Navy. That choice shaped the course of his life. Through hard work and determination, he rose to Chief Petty Officer and proudly served his country for 22 years before retiring from the United States Navy.
Following his military career, Stanley continued to stay active in his community. He helped start several small business, including a Mini Car business in Gardner, KS and later went to work for Multipren USA in Kansas City, Mo. His last role was to drive a bus for the Olathe School District, which he truly enjoyed.
Stanley had a deep love for sports, especially as a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. He also had a passion for race cars and enjoyed spending time around them-even driving one-during his time in Texas. Despite his many interests, he was a man of quiet personality, often preferring simple moments over grand gestures. He loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother William (Bill), his wives Mary Diane and Margarette Joan, his son David Gene, his grandsons, Nathan Smith and Rickey West and granddaughter Carol Dalrymple.
Stanley is survived by his siblings, Pamela Morris and L. Jerry Dalrymple of Lawrence, his children Joseph (Stacey) Dalrymple of Wichita, KS, Sheri (Rick) West, of Grove, Oklahoma, and his bonus children whom he loved as his own Linda (Pat) LaDrigue, Tammy (Tom) Hartwick, Keith Smith, all of Olathe, KS and Mona Maroon.
