Thomas Tom Earl Pitman

He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving daddy, pap, uncle and friend to everyone he met. Tom was born on October 8, 1940 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to W. Gail and Xiva O. (Hinds) Pitman. He attended and graduated in 1967 from the University of Oklahoma. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps in combat duty in Vietnam from 1958 to 1970. He married the love of his life Mary (Husok) Pitman in Pittsburgh PA. on December 16, 1978.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents: Gail Pitman and Xiva O. Pitman both of Oklahoma and one brother Gail Pitman. Survivors include his wife of 35 years Mary Pitman of Olathe, KS., daughters: Erin Sammartino of Pittsburgh, PA. and Elisabeth (Lisa) Pitman and her husband Nate Adams of Olathe, KS. Left behind to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, his pride and joy: Jonathan Thomas Adams and Hannah Elisabeth Adams. Tom is also survived by his brother Michael Pitman of Corpus Christi, TX., along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26th at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors in Leavenworth National Cemetery Leavenworth, Kansas. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25th at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home.
