Yvonne Vickie (Miller) Rocha, 66, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife. loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she knew.
Yvonne was born on January 22, 1957 in Wimber Pennsylvania to Owen JR and Thelma Marie (Wentz) Miller. She attended and graduated from Blue Valley High School. After graduation, she attended Kansas City Community College. She met the love of her life Jesus Rocha Gonzalez and they were married on May 28, 1985.
Yvonne enjoyed taking care of her family; nothing gave her more pleasure in life than the time she spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for others, crocheting, crafts, puzzles and especially attending the casinos. Yvonne was a sincere, generous, compassionate person always willing to help any family member or friend in need. She will be sadly missed.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Greg Miller, Allen Miller one sister Iris Denti, brother-in-law Michael Denti and brother-in-law Tom Frank. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years Jesus Rocha of the home, son Robert Barnes and his wife Michelle of Tonganoxie, Kansas and her daughter Kristal Grocott and her husband Andy of Peculiar, Missouri. Left behind to cherish her memory are her seven grandchildren Sierra Miller, Cameron Grocott, Andrew Forde, Andrea Forde, Shelby Wilson, Chelsey Holcomb and William (Billy) Whitworth, three great grandchildren Jocelyn Holcomb, Benson Wilson and Vincent Holcomb. Yvonne is also survived by her two brothers, Gary Miller and his wife Betty of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Robin Miller of Kansas City, Kansas, two sisters Lona Smith and her husband Jackie of Olathe, Kansas, Bonnie Frank of Lawrence, Kansas and one sister-in-law Jean Miller of Olathe, Kansas.
Graveside service will be Saturday afternoon, August 12, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens 13901 South Black Bob Road Olathe, Kansas, Visitation will be Saturday morning August 12th staring at 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; St. Luke’s Hospice House 3516 Summit Street Kansas City, Missouri 64111.
