

Nicholas J. Franciosa, 89, of Old Bridge, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 1. He was a retired Supervisor with the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor for over 40 years. He was active in the Old Bridge Senior Center, having coordinated many programs. Nicholas was a United States Army Veteran serving during WWII. Born in NYC, he resided in the Bronx for most of his life before moving to Old Bridge 10 years ago. Beloved and Adored, Nicholas is predeceased by his wife Aurora Franciosa in 2001 and son Nicholas E. Franciosa in 1973, also predeceased by 5 sisters and 1 brother. Loving father of surviving children, Lorraine Vecchio & her husband Alex, Phyllis Fucci & her husband Michael, and Laura Hoey & her husband Bob. Adored Grandfather of grandchildren, Anita, Anthony, Christopher, Amanda, Matthew, & Nicholas and great grandchildren, Alyssa and Jacob.
A memorial gathering will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 US Hwy 9 Old Bridge, 08857. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 11am at St. Ambrose RC Church, 96 Throckmorton Lane, Old Bridge. Military Honors will follow.
