

He was born and raised in Old Hickory, TN and Graduated from DuPont high School in 1954.
After graduation, he served in the Army for two years and then served in the TN National Guard. January 29, 1955 he married his loving wife of 62 years Peggy Page Flatt. He was employed by Ford Glass Plant for 43 years.
Mr. Flatt was an active member of his community and avid golfer. He was a member of Old Hickory United Methodist Church, Old Hickory Masonic Lodge, and a Member of the Old Hickory Country Club.
He loved to spend time outside growing his tomatoes and ensuring his yard was perfect. Mr. Flatt enjoyed traveling especially to Gatlinburg, TN and the beach; he also loved to sing his, favorite was George Jones. He also made sure everyone’s car was clean and running.
Mr. Flatt lived a very full life; the greatest joy in his life was his family. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his daughters Carla (Joe) McCauley, Rita (Eddie) Williams; grandchildren Shelby (Chris) Crowley and Jackson Williams, great granddaughters Ella Gambill and Madeline Gambill and his sisters Flossie Ford and Pearl Kinle.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carless and Netchie Flatt; his loving wife Peggy Page Flatt; granddaughter, Jodie McCauley Gambill and his five siblings.
Gathering of family and friends Sunday March 9, 2025 from 2:00-4:00pm at Hermitage Funeral Home and on Monday March 10, 2025 from 12:00-1:00pm. Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00pm in the Tulip Grove Room also at Hermitage Funeral Home. Burial following Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
