

Catherine was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 23, 1939 and moved to Hermitage, Tennessee with her husband, John Hansen, and her children in 1968. She remained in Hermitage, raising her 5 children and traveling/spending time with her husband, sister and her wonderful friends and neighbors Moira “Sunshine” Lay, John and Carolyn Roberts, Raymond and Rose Carter. She attended church and raised her family, for over fifty years at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Donelson, TN.
Catherine enjoyed many years on the Donelson Bowling team with her dear friend, Pat Pardue, and she was an active poll worker during the election seasons. She loved watching Titans and Vanderbilt football, along with the game show "Jeopardy". She always enjoyed an evening of Trivia with family and friends at McNamara’s Irish Pub or Homegrown Taproom.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John L. Hansen of Hermitage, her parents James and Lillian Thomson of Brooklyn, NY, brothers James and Kenneth Thomson and sister Marion Thomson McNulty. She is survived by her children, Larry (Tiffany) Hansen, Michael (Debby) Hansen, Peter (Susan) Hansen, Joanne Hall, and Carolyn (Michael) Schultz. She is survived by her 10 grandchildren, Laura Hendrixson, Erin Pulliam, Jonathan (Amy) Hansen, Mittchell (Josephine) Hansen, Hallie (Johnathon) Sanford, TJ Hansen, Clayton Schultz, Justin (Katie) Parker, Cassandra Parker and Ali (Nick) Walker. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, Kinsley, Brooke, Emma, Rhett, Emersyn, Ellis, Haisley Jo, Kirra, Sadie, Gavin and Eloise.
The family would like to thank the Alive Hospice Hickory team of Olivia, Sandra, BJ, Marion and Brian for their kind and loving care this year. Pam Spain for providing wonderful care any time it was needed and most special thanks for the selflessness and patience of her sweet caretaker and niece, Breanna Spain, who stayed constantly by her side for months.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends for Catherine on Thursday, September 18, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Hermitage Funeral Home. On Friday, September 19, the family will leave in procession from Hermitage Funeral Home at 10:00 AM with escort en route to Calvary Cemetery on Lebanon Road in Nashville with Father John Sims Baker officiating. Jonathan Hansen, Mittchell Hansen, TJ Hansen, Clayton Schultz, Johnathon Sanford, and Robert Gutierrez will serve as pallbearers.
