

CANTRELL Sr., Charles A (Bud) age 85 passed away February 11, 2014. Bud served in the U.S Marine during WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 88 Honor Guard, a 50 year member of the McWhirtersville Masonic Lodge, and a dedicated member of St. Stephen Catholic Community. Bud worked for the State of Tennessee Highway Department for 16 years. He also worked for Mobile Drilling as a successful salesman for 25 years.
He was an avid sportsman, loving hunting, fishing, boating, and his red dog Ginger. He found setting quietly in the woods at dawn to be one of God’s greatest blessings.
Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Elizabeth Harbin Cantrell; parents, Leon Trousdale & Elizabeth Buckner Cantrell; daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Cantrell; sisters, Claire Casey and Betty Jones.
Survived by his wife, Helen Fowler Cantrell; children, Ellen Marie Wood, Charles A. Cantrell Jr.(Cathy), Edward Leon Cantrell (Debra), Patricia Annette Thomason (Tommy) and Sean Patrick Cantrell; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am Saturday at St. Stephen Catholic Community with Father Pat Kibby. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 5:30pm until 8:30pm at the church, with a vigil service at 7pm followed by a rosary.
