Charlie, my neighbor and oldest friend. Already missing your friendship and fun conversation. Somehow or another we are no longer young kids playing in the neighborhood. I have learned that people are what makes any experience worthwhile. Growing up on Knobdale and playing endless football, basketball, and wiffle ball games with you, Paul and Mike, Wes and Brian, and my brother Rob made for such a fun childhood. Your yard was the wiffle ball yard (still can’t believe your folks cut down the tree in the middle of the yard, it was second base after all) and your drive was the basketball court. I remember your Dad pushing the fence tops down so they wouldn’t damage the basketball when it bounced around. Our only worry was when the street light came on, it meant you had to go in for dinner. I dreaded the light coming on as much as you did. Never met anyone who had such an easy going and fun nature. No matter if we were apart for a while, we always picked up where we left off. Not only will I miss your friendship, your IT prowess was unmatched. How many times did I hear my Mom or Dad say, “call and ask Charlie” when we had any tech issue. You always helped. No surprise, you come from good stock. I know you are a big Georgia fan (nobody’s perfect). Wish you could have seen them play this season. They are strong as always. Thanks for being not only the best neighbor but also a reliable friend. True friendship these days is rare. Thankful we had it. You will be missed. Your friend Dan.

Well to Mrs Warren and Anna. I'm so sorry for Charlie's seemingly quick downturn and passing, but I'm glad it was peaceful and not difficult. Charlie was not a complainer nor did he push off a bitter attitude about what he was going through. He was a trooper, going along as best he could. It was nice to reconnect over the last few months giving him rides and talking. He was generous and pleasant always. I remember coming back from Trinidad as a child and Dan would rustle up Charlie so we could all play basketball in yall's driveway. Those are good memories.

Charlie was a wonderful friend and neighbor to our family. Like the entire Warren family……Charlie was kind, loyal, always helpful and smart. Charlie was very generous with his time as he did a lot to help us during my mothers illness and also when my father was not well. I’ll always remember our childhood days fondly as we grew up on Knobdale. Thank you Charlie and God Bless.

To my dear friend Charlie - some of the fondest memories of my life were made with you. I immediately asked my mother to look for the “watermelon photo” of you, Brian and me as pre-teens. 
Somehow you had the very first Atari, ever. I recall sitting on your folks carpet playing Breakout for hours, then days, months:). You always won at Basketball, so long as Dan wasn’t home. 
I vividly remember arguing over the best guitarist - Alex Lifeson or Neal Schon. In hindsight, I agree it was the former, though Eddie Van Halen was just warming up at the time.
My younger son reminds me a lot of you because he loves books and is very smart. He favors you a bit, as I’m reminded by the photo. 
Rest in peace old buddy. You are always in my good memories.
