Clifford Franklin Horne, Jr (Frank) of Mt. Juliet, passed away on June 12th. Frank valiantly defeated leukemia but complications arising from a stem cell transplant took him from us way too soon. Family surrounded him as he peacefully met his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Frank was a beloved son, husband, father, G-Daddy, brother and friend to so many people.
Frank was a graduate of Belmont University and proudly served the state of Tennessee for over 45 years, working for the Department of Transportation (TDOT). Frank was a member of Victory Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet, teaching Sunday School & RA’s for many years as well as a past District Director of Toastmasters International.
Frank is survived by his wife of 49 years Brenda Kaye Sloan, son Trey Horne (Michelle), daughter Robyn Wakefield (Eric), grandsons Hyatt Horne, Ethan Wakefield, Brenner Wakefield, granddaughter Channing Wakefield, his mother Verna Horne, and brothers Steve & Terry Horne. He was preceded in death by his father Reverend Clifford Franklin Horne, longtime pastor in Nashville.
Visitation will be held on Saturday June 15 at Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet from 4-7pm, Sunday June 16 at 1pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2pm. Graveside burial will be immediately following at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Officiants will be Bro. Chuck Groover and Rev. Jim Clark (Uncle Jimmy). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society Memorial Hope Lodge in Nashville, TN. The Hope Lodge is dear to their hearts as it was home to Brenda & Frank for several months as he recovered from cancer treatment and the stem cell transplant.
