Mrs. Jackson grew up in the Old Hickory area and graduated from DuPont High School in 1945. After graduation, she married hometown boy, Thomas Jackson. There were married for 65 years until his death in 2011. Dorothy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Old Hickory. Other than being a homemaker and raising her daughter, Branda, Mrs. Jackson worked in several large companies before her retirement.
Mrs. Jackson and her husband always enjoyed camping with special friends, dancing, and going to auctions. She was an excellent cook and loved Christmas. She really enjoyed making it a major event, preparing food for the family, and buying gifts for everyone. She loved all her family but especially loved doting on her grandsons and great-grandchildren.
She loved well . . . was well-loved . . . and will be greatly missed.
