Douglas Michael Waller

Douglas Michael (Mike) Waller, age 71, of Moss, Tennessee, passed away March 20, 2025, at home with family. Mike was a native of Old Hickory, Tennessee, and a graduate of DuPont High School class of 1972. Mike retired from McLane Company, Inc. in 2019 after working for them for 21 years.

Mike was the son of the late, William Douglas Waller, and the late, Francis Bernice Jones Traughber. He is also preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert “Bob” Traughber; brother, Thomas Waller; and his sister, Patricia Guffy.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Shearin Compton Waller; beloved dog, “Mickey”; his children: Tammie (Joseph) Dawson, Thomas (Jackie Neely) Waller, Timothy (Wendy) Waller, and Christopher Huff; and his sister, Pam (Eugene) Cadwallader of Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Mike is also survived by his grandchildren: Blake (Jessica) McDonald, Samantha (Amanda Cabey) Smith, Christopher Huff, Allison (Shawn McNeal) Waller, Logan (Katie McCormick) Waller, Dylan Huff, Braden Huff, Hanah (Laine Dies) Waller, Joseph Dawson, Mason Waller and Aubrey McAnally; and his step-grandchildren: Ashley (John) Partridge, Kara (Jonah) Cole. Emily (Matt) Hagler, Coty (Berrie) Dawson, and 17 great-grandchildren.

There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends on Monday, March 24, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, March 25, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Mike’s Life will begin on Tuesday at 12:00 PM in the Tulip Grove Chapel of the funeral home with Bruce Bailey officiating. Tommy Waller, Timmy Waller, Joseph Dawson, Jonah Cole, Terry Secrest, Steve Hylton, Logan Waller, Logan Waller, and Shawn Warmath will serve as pallbearers. Chris Huff and Ty Guffy will serve as an honorary pallbearers. Following the service, Mike will be laid to rest in the Garden of Devotion at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
