Dusty Miller, born Vesta Fay Miller, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2020. She was 85 years old, born on May 20, 1934 in Atwood, Kansas. In December of 1953, she married Ernie Miller in Delta, Colorado. They moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1968, and Dusty worked as a payroll supervisor at Life & Casualty and then at American General.
Dusty has been a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband have been members of the Hermitage United Methodist Church for 40 years. She was involved in activities at her church, including volunteering with Room at the Inn and Vacation Bible School.
She loved to read and garden. She loved her roses. She made clothes and quilts for her family. And she specialized in hugging. She was mother to many more than her children. There was always room at the table for another. She loved unconditionally. And though she will be dearly missed by her family and friends, they will continue to feel her presence daily in their lives. She was and is a mother of Love.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Ernie Miller. And her children - Gene Miller and wife Susan, Kevin Miller and Michelle Miller. Also her grandchildren - Aaron Miller, Ryan Miller, Levi Miller and Dakota Miller. Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 4pm to 8pm at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens - 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN.
On Friday, January 17, 2020, visitation will be at 10am followed by a life celebration service at 11am at Hermitage United Methodist Church - 205 Belinda Drive, Hermitage, TN.
