

Preceded in death by parents E.L. and Viola Wright, brothers; Charles Wright, Robert E.L. Williams, Thomas Williams, Erwin Williams and sister, Katherine Crow.
Survived by loving wife Margaret V. Wright, sister Evelyn Wright, daughters, Debbie ( James) Burks, Carla Sturm, Grandchildren Shannon ( Chris) Updike, Jessica ( Matt) Winters, Megan (Craig) Johnson, Richard Burks, Justin Sturm, Devere Sturm , 7 Great grandchildren, Leigha Joy Winters , Samantha Kate Winters , Baby Johnson, Austin Sturm, Justin Sturm Jr, Tyler Sturm , Camden Sturm, a four-legged granddog named Clover and a host of nieces and nephews from N.C, Florida, Texas, and here in Nashville along with many, many friends.
Joined the Army and was stationed in Germany and Fort Belvoir in Virginia. He honed his skills in engineering while in the service. After serving in the military, he made his home in the Northern Virginia area where he meet and married Margaret (Maggi) Van Hoy. They made their home in Nashville Tennessee where he was an engineer for several major hotels. Dwight never meet a stranger, and his wit and kindness were showed to all. He was a Golden Gloves Middle Weight boxing champ, a member of American Legion Post 88 and loved to show off his diving skills at the swimming pool. He enjoyed fishing and has several citations for record catches. He was known to take broken and discarded items and repurpose them into new. He could fix anything! We all have so many fond memories of Dwight and he will truly be missed. Out of our sight but always in our hearts!
Gathering of family and friends Saturday, January 16th 1pm, funeral service to follow at 3pm in the Hermitage Funeral Chapel. A gathering over food at Hermitage United Methodist Church following the service. Interment will be at Slaughters Cemetery in Slaughters Kentucky Sunday, January 17th at 1pm. We will come together for prayer and food at Slaughters United Methodist Church after the service
