Seale, Frances D., age 100 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Preceded in death by her parents, Caroline McClung and Francis Draper; husbands, Robert Seale and Mac Elrod; and sister, Faye McReynolds. Survived by her son Brent (Joanne) Seale; step-grandson, Jimmy Adams; daughter, Kimberly (David) Daniel; granddaughter, Sarah Daniel; brother-in-law, Thomas (Karen) Seale; nephew, Shawn (Elizabeth) Seale; nieces, Shelley (Jim) Baird and Sheri (Brad) Lazenby; and many other beloved family and friends.
Frances was born in Watonga, Oklahoma, in 1924. Frances attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, where she was voted Philippian Queen and graduated with a B.S. in Education.
She worked as a secretary and receptionist at a doctor’s office in Enid, Oklahoma, before moving to Texas, where she worked as a high school secretary. She also worked for the Trailways Bus System as a passenger clerk and secretary.
She married Robert Seale in 1950 in Enid, Oklahoma, and they moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked as a receptionist at First Baptist Church. She raised her two children in Nashville and worked at the church and then at a law firm. Frances and Robert retired in 1987 and moved to Murfreesboro, where they enjoyed traveling, volunteering at church and taking part in neighborhood activities.
Robert passed away in 2012. In 2013 Frances married Duncan “Mac” Elrod and they enjoyed travel and large family events until he passed away in 2021.
Frances enjoyed her final years at The Villages of Murfreesboro, where she made new friends and was celebrated as The Villages’ first centenarian.
Visitation will be held Tuesday June 24, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 525 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. with Pastor Pam Pilote officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at hermitagefh.com
