After high school days, James would drive to pick-up his sister at the local school where she was taking night classes. He noticed another young lady that would accompany his sister out of the building. He inquired about her but his sister assured him the young lady would have no interest in him - but he persevered. In time, he met his sister’s friend, Bertha Buchanan. He had met the love of his life and eventually convinced her of his love and they had been married two months shy of fifty-five years at the time of his passing.
