Jewel Lilburn “J.L.” HUNTER Jr., age 86 of Madison, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010. Preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Hunter and great grandson, Houston Cook. Survived by his wife, Virginia Hunter; children, Gary Hunter and Jewell Haas; step-son, Edward Reasonover; grandchildren, Courtney, Jessie, Talor and Garreth; step grandson, Robert; 4 great grandchildren. Mr. Hunter was a former lifelong resident of Madison and a member of Rivergate Church Of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was a retired letter carrier with the USPS. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sellers Crane and Bro. Joe Bogle officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family will serve as Active Pallbearers. Members of the National Association of Letter Carriers will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation with the family 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday and 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Monday.
