Ken- Two months after your passing I received the sad news.  Sorry I missed your service but things happen for a reason and I would have been a total mess.  I called your son the day after I got the news.  Who knew after all these years the pain would be so great.  I feel deeply for all the people that have been in your world. On a happy note, a song came to my mind, Friends in Low Places, and I can picture your loving smile.  I had a dream close to your passing about my dear Grandmother.  I remember talking to her, but looking back, I think she was warning me of the news.  She always loved you-so do me a favor and go find her-please.  Life takes us down different paths but love is forever.  I am posting this on our special day-Feb 28.  You left me with many fond memories. Aunt Linda said - Ditto- on this message- loves and will miss you also.

Tina I just read about your dad, Tina and I were old school mates back in grade school, I knew her growing up, I know how special fathers are, I also lost my father 25 years ago in 1986. I am so sorry for the loss of your father.

Ken was a great friend and my heart grieves to hear of his passing. I will carry with me memories of the good times we shared and all the cars that were raced and worked on. My deepest condolences to all of you. I will miss him very much.

My mom Tonya & my dad Jerald Harper were friends with Ken for over 40 years. I am my parent's youngest daughter, Sharon Harper-Markham. I wanted to let ya'll know that he was the funniest, big hearted, funnest person I ever knew in my present 32 years of my life. My fondest memory of him is when he had his shop on Main Street in East Nashville. I was living in Somerville, Tn with my grandmother and would come in to visit my dad when he worked at Ken's shop and Ken let me hang out in the front office area there and watch TV. Sometimes, he would come in and he could just tell I was a kid bored out of my mind with watching TV. He would give me one of his mechanic's shirts or one of my dad's to keep my clothes clean and he would take me into the shop area to teach me how to fix cars. I am the only one among my girlfriends who knows how to work on cars and every tool it takes to work on cars.
Mine & my husband John Markham's heart was saddened by the word of his passing. He will be greatly missed by me & my husband & family. Y'all have my deepest condolences. And I've always wanted to thank Ken for being my friend and passing a little of his knowledge and wisdom to me. I am forever greatful to him for that.

I have such great memories of my uncle it was always exciting to go and visit,never a dull moment when he was around.I am so thankful that i was so blessed to have him in my life.He has such a wonderful smile and funny laugh and a great big heart!I will never forget you Uncle Ken you are and will always be one in a million!lov you always!!!!!

I have such a special place in my heart for my Daddy. He was the most charming man I knew. I remember so many things & it's so hard to accept he's no longer a phone call away. I am so blessed to have spent the last night of his life w/him looking thru his photo albums. I want to thank all his friends & family for being at the service. And there are so many of you we are still trying to locate. It was just as he would have wanted it, a celebration of his life. To see his old racing buddies was something I will always remember, you guys made my day..The last song we played was "I love this Bar!" It so warmed my heart to see ppl stand & clap for him. He lived a full life & I am so blessed to have been his daughter. Daddy, I will miss you so & I love you more than you will ever know. Please watch over us & be my angel..I love you.  I am shocked and so sorry to hear about Ken.  He was a very special part of my life for years and although we drifted apart, he always remained in my heart.  I remember the good, the bad and the funny times we shared. He always knew how to make me laugh.

Ken was and will always be my best friend!! No matter what was happening we would always be there for each other good and bad. I am lucky, because I can say, I had a True Friend in Ken, which is a rare gift. I will miss him deeply, but shall focus on all the interesting times we shared through the years.
