

Ken is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lori Whitely Mattox; daughters, Kara Mattox and Kasey Anthony (Jeremy); grandchildren, Hunter, Adalynn, and Jack Anthony; sisters Lisa Minnigan (Dave) and Tisha Woodall (Keith); mother-in-law, Margaret Whitely; sister-in-law, Liz Gammon (Larry); nephews Brad and Ryan Minnigan, Lester Gammon, and Joshua and Caleb Woodall; and niece, Leigh Valdes.
Ken graduated from Springfield High School in 1973 and from Austin Peay State University in 1977. He loved all things Springfield and was a big follower of the Yellow Jackets football team where you could find him most every fall Friday night.
Ken enjoyed a 48-year career in banking and has been the Chief Financial Officer at CedarStone Bank for the past 20 years. His banking career began in 1977 at Third National Bank where he worked for 18 years. He began his career there as an auditor and worked his way up to Vice President and Assistant Controller. Ken is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Institute of Management Accountants.
Ken was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and was a member of the Mount Juliet Church of Christ for the past 19 years. One of his proudest accomplishments was achieving Eagle Scout. He was a family man and loved his wife, daughters, and son-in-law fiercely but his favorite role in life was that of “Granddaddy.”
There will be a Gathering of Family of Friends for Ken on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home and on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Mount Juliet Church of Christ, 1940 North Mount Juliet Road, Mount Juliet, TN. A Celebration of Ken's Life will follow Thursday's visitation at 11:00 AM with Craig Evans officiating and remarks from Bob McDonald. The "Springfield Boys", Scott Bagwell, Bob Bolen, Mike Dale, and Ronny Noles, nephews Brad Minnigan, Lester Gammon, and Ryan Minnigan will serve as pallbearers. The Cedarstone Board of Directors will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
