Lavona Richardson Sircy

SIRCY, Lavona Richardson, Age 92 of Old Hickory, TN, born October 21, 1918 in Gainsboro, TN. Preceded in death by her husband, Zollie Sircy Sr. of 70 years and parents, William H. and Mollie Cassetty Richardson of Gainsboro, TN. She is survived by her son, Walter Zollie (Anita) Sircy, Jr. ; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Sircy (Barry) Bresnahan, Walter “Tripper” Zollie (Carla) Sircy, III and Christopher Dixon (Kyle) Sircy; seven great-grandchildren, McCauley Kane, Stone Collins, Park Downey and Brooks Cassetty Bresnahan, Grant Carlson Sircy, Liza Ellenor and Mia Gabrielle Sircy.

Lavona was a long time member of the Old Hickory United Methodist Church, where she worked as a children’s Sunday School teacher and coordinator for 40 years. She was a charter member of the Women’s Missionary Society and former member of the Administration Board. She worked for the State of Tennessee Revenue Department for 31 years. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 11 am at Old Hickory United Methodist Church with Rev. James Norton officiating. Burial will follow at the Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 4 -8 pm at the Hermitage Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Active Pallbearers: Tripper Sircy, Christopher Sircy, John Milliken, Al Richardson, James Ray, Garry Maxey, Ray Hudnall and Harold Richardson. Honorary Pallbearers: the great-grandchildren, Tom McRedmond, Danny Shelton and Jerry Pigue. A special thanks to Madlyn Butler at Park Place Retirement Community and all the wonderful caregivers, Asera Hospice and her dear friends, Larry Bauknecht and Ryan Hackett. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Old Hickory United Methodist Church.
