Linda West Wittmann passed away November 17, 2021. She will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Most of all, she loved her family and to bringing people together. She was a natural leader and had a passion for academia that she shared with others. In 1958, Mrs. Wittmann was crowned "Miss Nashville". She was always an elegant lady, passionate about clothing, fashion, and always wearing her lipstick.
Linda graduated from Vanderbilt University. She spent her professional life teaching Spanish. She had a love of language and also spoke fluent German. She was a founding member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority Chapter. Mrs. Wittmann remained active thorough her whole life. She was a member of Brandywine Women’s Club and enjoyed traveling the world in her free time. She also enjoyed following intricate recipes that became wonderful dinners.
Mrs. Wittmann is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Herb Wittmann; daughter Kammi (Gary) Grimes; granddaughter Kayla Grimes; and, cousin Larry (Kathryn) Keaton.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends Monday, November 22, 2021 from 1pm to 2pm at Hermitage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2pm in the Tulip Grove Room at Hermitage Funeral Home. Mrs. Wittmann will be placed in her final resting place in the mausoleum in the Garden of Memories at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
