I am sorry for your loss.  I wish that I could have been to the Funeral but because  of my health and appointments I was unable to attend.  I am praying for you.  I had her on my mind for the last couple of weeks she was a special lady.  I feel that she was a cousin even though it was by marriage and not by birth.  I loved the family Aunt Earline and Uncle Dewey they were always so caring and I felt part of the family from the beginning of my marriage.  May God give you Peace.

Mattie Lee was not just a dedicated instructor, she was a friend. I am thankful for the lapidary and wire wrapping techniques she taught me and the goal of perfection she instilled in every student.

May you be comforted always by happy memories of the times you shared.

Anna and I send our sincere sympathy to you and your families during this time.  You are so blessed as your Mom and Dad have left you with such a strong heritage and legacy that can be passed down to your children. They have instilled in you a great work ethic, not just working, but doing things right and with a purpose when you do.  They had a tremendous love for the Lord and sought to serve Him in any way they could.  They also had a love for His Word.  Things were black and white, right or wrong, with no higher appeal available. They had a love for their family and made the sacrifices necessary to put them first. They modeled a love, care, and respect for each other and it showed.  They had a passion to see you all had every education opportunity possible available for you.  All of these things are a picture of what is spoken of in Deuteronomy 6:4-5 which reads:  Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength,  These commandments I give you to day to be on to be upon your hearts,.  Impress them on your children.   Although there will be a void because she has gone, you have so many wonderful memories that are left behind.  We are transients, we rejoice that Mattie Lee is with Jesus,  Bobby, and her other loved ones.  We are not that far behind.  We are praying that God will sustain your every need during this time.  We love you.

Mattie Lee was one of a kind. Over 35 years ago, when I was at a turning point in my life, I interviewed with her for a job that I was woefully unqualified for. She quickly realized that and began asking me about where I was in my life and what I wanted to do. She gave me advice and a sense of worthiness that I hadn't had up to that point and I often reflected on her kind words as I went on to a lovely life. Many years later, I told her how her words had affected me. She didn't even remember that we had met. That told me that she had spent her life uplifting people and never thought of herself as wise or as compassionate as she truly was. She and my mother became good friends and I was SO pleased and privileged to see them reconnect and share in person, just a few short weeks ago. She was still Mattie Lee, funny, warm, and optimistic. She will be missed greatly but we will see her again. My prayers for the family as you readjust your lives without her, mourn her passing, and celebrate her life.
