

Miriam Branning Dobbs, 88, of Donelson passed away Tuesday, January 31 at McKendree Manor Nursing Home. She was born to Robert Lester and Bertha Munyan Branning in Woodbury, New Jersey on Feb. 8, 1928. She was a loving mother to a large family and active in the community, serving as a volunteer for many years for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Andrew Price Methodist Church Circle, and much more. She was one of the founding members of the Music City Quilter’s Club, and made dozens of quilts over the years for premature children born in area hospitals.
Her generous and kind spirit was passed on to her large family, which includes Ruth Smith of Nashville; Roy L. Dobbs III (Pat) and David Dobbs (Cindy), of the Villages, Florida; Richard Dobbs (Faye) and Dottie Dobbs of Nashville; and Kay Harris of Key West, Florida; Grandchildren Eric Smith; Brian Smith and Tish Bartlett of Nashville; Carrie Allen (Robbie) and Jason Dobbs (Julia) of Nashville; Allison Lowry (Dean) of Knoxville; Patrick Dobbs (Amanda) and Jonathan Dobbs of Nashville; and Emma Harris Mize (Stephen) of Arlington, Virginia; and Great Grandchildren Sara Smith; Austin Bartlett; Cameron and Katie Allen; and Juniper Dobbs, all of Nashville.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband of many years, Roy L. Dobbs Jr.
Visitation will begin from 10 a.m. to noon followed by a Memorial Service will be held at noon on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
Interment will follow the service
