I’m saddened I didn’t learn of Ruth’s passing at the time. Unfortunately, families lose touch. My memory of her, however, is very dear. Love her smile,  laugh, sense of humor and kindness. Will never forget the family reunions she attended, in particular the year she and my mom played football with all us kids, and hearing from my mother of their childhood together. She made an indelible impression on me, was one of a quintuple of five wonderful sisters and I loved her so very dearly.  

I will miss my Aunt Ruth and her sweet welcoming voice.  Even though I couldn't see her often, she was always interested with how you were doing.  Any visit would have you leaving with something wonderful that she had canned from her garden.  Her Sweet Iced Tea was a staple in her kitchen and I think of her whenever I make tea as I always use her recipe.  (She was responsible for getting me to eat Tuna sandwiches!)  Aunt Ruth was a wonderful lady with genuine caring ways and support. I so admired her strength and courage through all the years of devoted care of our Uncle John. I loved her dearly.

I still remember and still have treasured pictures from the vacation my mom, brother Tim, and I took to their home in Nashville. Aunt Ruth made the BEST buttermilk biscuits, Uncle John told me he'd by me a horse (mom loved that), and they had the crazy goats from next door that would eat everything. Although we were not able to see Aunt Ruth a lot I always remember her as the coolest great Aunt in her blue jeans - she seemed to be ageless!

Aunt Ruth and Uncle John were married during World War II when I was 3 or 4. She lived with us in Baltimore and worked with my Dad at Martin's Aircraft plant until Uncle John was discharged.  I adored her.  She was so much fun to play with.  She was and remained one of the dearest people in my life.  She was a treasure to her family and to all of us.

Your loss is unbearable to me. You have been such a special person in my life and I will miss your advice & words of wisdom. I'm glad you are no longer suffering and are with Uncle John & John Jr. once again. You've got lots of catching up to do. Your memory will live on in my heart forever. I will miss your peanut brittle. It was the best & I can blame you for my weight gain.
I will love you forever & will miss you always.

The loss I feel for you is unbearable. You have been so special to me.  It was always so comforting to hear your voice and your words of advice. I'm happy that you are once again with Uncle John & John Jr. I can only imagine your conversations with them. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten. Your memory will remain in my heart forever.
