Mr. Vivion H. Rice

RICE, Vivion H., age 89 of Hermitage, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mary Emma and his son, Perry James Rice. Survived by his daughter, Betty Jean Rice; son, William “Buzzy” (Elaine) Rice; grandchildren, Brian (Paula) Ek, Chris (Lindsay) Ek and Kellie Brooke Rice; great grandchildren, Madison and Mia Ek; brothers, Gordon and Thomas Rice; sisters, Mary Lou Rice Frazer and Dixie Tanksley. Mr. Rice was a member of Hermitage Church of Christ and was retired from the Ford Glass Plant. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. Mr. Rice was a member of Mt. Juliet Masonic Lodge #642 for 58 years and was also a member of the Music City Airstream Travel Club. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Brian and Chris Ek, W.K. Conner, Donnie Odum, Don Rice and Chipper Tanksley will serve as Active Pallbearers. Buzzy Neil, Earl Jr. Rice, Ed Jr. Rice, Jim Rice, Kenneth Smith, James Page, Andy Tanksley and Ron Lauria will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation with the family 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday and 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday at Hermitage Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.hermitagefh.com.
