

William Houston Stanton, 90, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on April 24, 2022. Houston was born in Granville, Tennessee on March 3, 1932 to parents, David and Clara Stanton. He married the love of his life, Christine Martin, on March 31, 1951. They were married for 65 years before her passing four years ago. Houston entered the United States Army after he and Christine were married and was stationed in Alabama. Following the Army, he began employment at the FORD Glass Plant in Nashville until he retired.
Houston loved riding his motorcycle and anything made by FORD. He was a compassionate man and loved visiting the sick. He made many dear friends over the years and was a long-time member of the Green Hill Church of Christ in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Houston will be remembered as an exceptional husband and father. He was a kind, loving gentleman. Many will miss him.
Houston is preceded in death by his parents, David and Clara (Carter) Stanton; Christine Stanton, his loving wife of sixty-five years; and his brother, Eddie Stanton. He is survived by his son William H. Stanton, Jr. (Michelle); daughter Teresa Jackson (David); grandchildren Adam Jackson, Nathan Jackson (Victoria), Micah Stanton (Justice), and Rachel Kortuem (Trevor).
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at Hermitage Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, 5pm until 8pm. There will also be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Green Hill Church of Christ, 11706 Lebanon Road in Mount Juliet, from 1pm - 2pm. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2pm with Brother Darrell Blankenship officiating. Following the Celebration of Life, Houston will be laid to rest in the Garden of the Apostles at Hermitage Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, Tennessee.
