Carl was born on January 3, 1965 in Brooklyn, NY to Alfred and Ruth Wohlmuth. He earned his Bachelors in Marine Engineering from SUNY Maritime College in 1987, and soon after, married his beloved wife, Rosa. The two of them later moved to Ivoryton, Connecticut, where they raised their four children in the faith.
Carl was an active member of Christ the King in Old Lyme, an ACTS brother, and an Eagle scout, a tradition later carried on by all three of his sons. In keeping with his love of ships, he was employed as an Engineer for the Department of the Navy, Supervisor of Shipbuilding in Groton, CT. A true New Yorker, he was an avid Jets fan, and valued laughter and the love of his family above all else.
Carl is survived by his wife, Rosa Wohlmuth of Ivoryton; son Daniel Wohlmuth and wife Carol of Middletown; sons David and Steven Wohlmuth; daughter, Susan Wohlmuth; brother, Alfred Wohlmuth of Pennsylvania; sister, Diane Berry and husband Cliff of Long Island and their children, Marie and Brian; brother-in-law Loius Olivera and wife Pamela of Nebraska and their children, Adam and Kristen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 a 11:00AM at Christ the King Church, Old Lyme, CT 06371. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any charitable donations be made to Christ the King in Carl's name.
