

Lyme- Joseph James Golub Jr., 60, of Norwich Salem Rd., died Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Middlesex Hospital’s Shoreline Clinic. Joe was born on May 18, 1951 in Middletown the son of Victoria and Joseph Golub. He is a 1996 graduate of RPI Master’s program in Electrical Engineering. He married Celia Dawn Johnston on June 18, 1983 in St. Bridget of Kildare Church in Moodus. He was employed for over 38 years at Electric Boat in Groton, currently as Principal Engineer.
Joe was an avid deep-sea fisherman and world traveler. He recently published his first book, Hapless Heroes, which he provided to all participants at the 2011 Connecticut Invention Convention. He was also the sponsor for the 3D award given at the convention. Joe’s been a judge at the convention for 10 years.
Joe is survived by his loving wife Celia Dawn Golub, his son Daniel J. Golub and wife Eileen of Lakeville, MA, his sister Mary Ann Ferguson of Waterford and his mother Victoria Golub.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 15 at 10:00am at St. Bridget of Kildare, 75 Moodus Leesville Rd., Moodus, CT. Interment will follow in St. Bridget of Kildare Cemetery, North Moodus Road, Moodus, CT. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00pm in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Ln., Old Lyme, CT 06371.
