Barbara D. Middleton

She was born on November 05, 1924 in Meriden, CT where she grew up.

She worked as Chief Nurse of anesthesiology in Columbia, MO then retired and continued to volunteer as an EMT in Old Saybrook and Westbrook, CT.

She was actively involved in her church and community.

She was preceded in death by their daughter Sanna Middleton and two sisters Elizabeth DelGiorno and Sylvia Schmit.

She is survived by her daughter Terra Middleton, grandchildren Brandon Middleton and Devin Lehart, nephew Gary Schmitt and nieces Candice Beacham and Heidi Pascucci.

Barbara Middleton was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. She was hard working, compassionate, intelligent and selfless to say the least. On many occasions she would go out of her way to help complete strangers and the ones she loved. The only thing Barbara loved more than helping people was swimming. She had a huge heart and was nothing less of a saint.

Family and friends are invited to attend a small service at Swan Funeral Home in Old Saybrook, CT and visitation with the family will be determined, currently planned for early June 2026.

Celebration of life to follow at 31 Hartlands Dr, Old Saybrook, CT same day.
