Christopher was born on March 31, 1996, to Christopher M. Root Sr. and Dana Velissariou Root. From a very young age, Christopher questioned everything. He was intelligent, curious, and endlessly inquisitive—always experimenting, building, and trying to understand how things worked. He loved to learn and never stopped seeking knowledge.
He was a lifelong resident of Old Saybrook Christopher attended the Old Saybrook School system and New England Institute of Technology, but much of his education came from what he often referred to as the school of life. He approached the world in his own way, rarely following a traditional path. He was thoughtful, independent, and always willing to challenge ideas and explore new perspectives.
In 2021, Christopher founded Root’s Property Management, reflecting his entrepreneurial spirit and determination to build something of his own. He took pride in his work and in the relationships he built along the way.
Christopher lived life with passion and intensity. He loved pushing the envelope and had a true daredevil spirit. He found joy in riding dirt bikes, snowboarding, and pursuing anything that brought adventure and adrenaline. He embraced life fully and was never afraid to try something new.
Christopher is survived by his father, Christopher M. Root Sr.; his mother, Dana Velissariou Root; and his siblings, Trevor Root, Alexie (Lexie) Root, and Kasey Root. He also leaves behind his grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many extended family members and friends who will carry his memory with them always.
Christopher’s presence, energy, and curiosity will be missed more than words can express, and he will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Mass will be held to honor Christopher on Saturday May 2, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Roman Catholic Catholic Church located at 161 Main Street in Old Saybrook. It will be followed by a Celebration of Christopher’s life at Clark Memorial Field located at 210 Elm Street in Old Saybrook.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Christopher.
