Stuart was born on December 12, 1930 in New York City, the son of Henry Stuart Otto and Mary Joslin Otto. He is survived by his beloved wife Suzanna of 55 years and their two daughters Linda (Christoph) Bruehwiler of Old Saybrook, CT and June (Bill) Gordon of Harwinton, CT and four grandchildren, Scott, Mitchel, Allison and Elizabeth. He grew up in Scarsdale, NY and graduated from The Hackley School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked in the modular home business for most of his life. He and Suzanna raised their family in Stamford, CT before retiring to Old Saybrook in 1995. He was a longtime member of the Zagray Farm Museum in Colchester, CT where he spent countless hours with friends working on his greatest passion, tractors. He also volunteered much of his time to the community at the First Church of Christ in Saybrook, the Historical Society and the Lions Club. He loved socializing with people and spending time with his grandchildren and family. In addition, he enjoyed playing tennis, swimming in the Sound and visiting his favorite family gathering place, Buffalo Hill Farm in Oxford, MA.
A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the First Church of Christ in Saybrook, 366 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT 06475.
