

Joshua Tucker Winslow, 31, affectionately known as “Joshy Bear”, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital with family and loved ones by his side. He was tragically injured while enjoying one of his favorite activities, spending time in and around the water. Josh enjoyed one last dive and will forever be remembered by family and friends as a lover of all things beach and water.
Josh was born on May 18, 1986 at Yale New Haven Hospital, son of Marianne N and James A Winslow of Westbrook, CT. He was predeceased by his loving grandparents Bodil and Palle Nielsen as well as Barbara and Richard Winslow all of Westbrook, CT.
He is survived by his mother Marianne and father James of Westbrook, sister and brother-in-law Jaimie and Rich Fisco of Fairfield, brother Casey of Westerly, RI and his beloved niece and nephew Lola Jean and Dean James Fisco of Fairfield.
He also leaves behind the love of his life, Marissa Souza of Old Saybrook along with his beloved springer spaniel Gage.
He was much loved and will also be greatly missed by all of his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Josh was an integral member of the shoreline community and touched the lives of many. The outreach from the community is so appreciated by his family. Josh was known and loved by many and know as a big teddy bear.
Joshua had built his own construction company from the ground up. His most recent project was building his beloved mother her dream home by renovating the house where he and his brother and sister grew up. He commonly used his free time to help family and friends in many ways.
A mass in memory of Joshua will be held on Saturday, Septemer 9, 2017, at 10:00 am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 222 McVeagh Road, Westbrook, CT.
