Veronica Lempicki

Veronica Sobolewski Lempicki, 89 of Old Lyme, CT passed away December 16 at her home. She was lovingly known as Vera, Mom, Grandma, Gram, Gummy, Gigi and Grammy by those in her life. Born in New Britain, CT, Vera was predeceased by her husband Ted and sister Helen Chotner. She is survived by her brother Stanley Sobolewski; her children Katherine Shaughnessy (Ray), Peter Lempicki (Kathy), Susan Sanders (Tucker), and Carol Whitley (Mike); her grandchildren Jessica, Devon, Kaitlin, Nikki, Chris, David S., David W., Brendan, Jillian, and Kylie; as well as 6 great grandchildren, nieces, nephew and many friends that she considered family. She loved being a part of their lives and will be missed.

Vera worked almost 30 years at the A&P in Old Lyme and enjoyed seeing all her neighbors and customers that went through her line. She loved playing cards with her friends and going to the casino. She was an avid UCONN Women’s Basketball fan and a lifelong Yankees fan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at 11am in Christ The King Church, McCurdy Rd., Old Lyme, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Vera’s memory to the The Lyme’s Senior Center located at 26 Townwoods Rd. Old Lyme, CT 06371 or The SBF Animal Rescue located at 96 Swimming Hole Rd. Harwinton, CT 06791.
