

BRADLEY—Arthur Kenneth Liepold, 55, passed away June 5, 2010 at his residence surrounded by family and friends. Ken was born November 11, 1954 in Springfield, MA a son of Arthur and Ann (Cadek) Liepold.
He graduated from Morton High School, Cicero, IL. He went on and graduated from West Point Academy, West Point, NY with a commission of Canon Field Artillery, as a 2nd Lt. Ken played offensive tackle for the US Army Football team and was selected for ECAC Division 1 All-Star Honor Roll. Ken served as a 1st Lt. in Germany, and was the Executive Officer of B Battery 2dBN 3dBN 3dFA. As a Capt, Ken was the Commanding officer of A Battery 2dBN 3FA. Upon returning to the United States, Ken attended the Field Artillery Officer Advanced Course at Ft Sill, OK. Following graduation Ken was assigned as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at the University of Maine. Upon leaving the Army, he was employed by Sawyer Environmental and Logistic Management Systems, both in Hermon. He was a former member of the Old Town Rotary Club. Ken was a long time motorcycle enthusiast. He and his wife, Cindy, enjoyed riding their Harley Davidson and playing with their dogs. Ken was an avid sports spectator and looked forward to reading, cooking, barbeques, making his bean-hole-beans and gardening.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years Cynthia Brown Liepold, his parents Arthur and Ann Liepold of St. Augustine, FL; his son Christopher Liepold and his wife Jill of Milford, stepdaughters Lynn Guillemette and her husband Jeff of hope, RI, Heidi Boone of Bangor, Holly Cunningham of Brewer and Jennifer Ouellette of Old Town; three grandchildren Gavin Boone, Mallory Liepold, and Camdyn Gee; a sister Kathryn Borris and her husband Dr. Robert Borris, niece Anna and nephews Christian all of Hilo, HI and very special friends Ron, Tim and Paul.
Friends and family cay call 6-8pm Friday June 11, 2010 at Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main Street Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Saturday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Bradley. Immediately following the service all are invited to the Parish hall for a time of celebrating Ken’s life and continued fellowship.
