OLD TOWN—Blanche Willa Gould, 89, passed at peacefully at home April 7, 2021. Born Blanche W Smith, April 23, 1931, one of a set of twins of Carleton and Lucy (Wallace) Smith of Great Works.
She was one of 13 children and grew up in a house full of love and companionship. She married Melvin C. Gould in 1950 and had six children, staying at home to raise her family. In 1999 she lost her life companion Philip Caron, and her daughter Brenda took her into her home and provided for her until her passing.
Blanche is survived daughter Brenda (Gould) Festerman; sons Melvin C. Gould II, Marvin Gould, Mark Gould and Phillip Gould; sister Helen Babb; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her twin Wyona Shirland, husband Melvin, life companion Phillip “Bullet” Caron, daughter Judith Gould Mulldune, grandsons William and Thomas Gould, and 11 of her siblings.
A graveside service will be conducted 2PM Wednesday April 14, 2021 at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice 824 Stillwater Ave Suite B, Bangor, ME 04401
