OLD TOWN—Faye L. Malenfant, 84, died peacefully March 3, 2019 at her residence. She was born July 19, 1934 in Littleton a daughter of Maurice E. and Florence (Meade) Nicholson.
She attended Ricker Classical in Houlton. At the age of 17, she moved to Connecticut and was employed at the Sylvania Plant, where she met her husband J. Lewis “Louie” Malenfant. They returned to Louie’s hometown, Old Town, where she was employed at Old Town Shoe for several years before operating Malenfant’s Fuel and Gas Gulf Gas Station along with Malenfant's Fuel and Bottle Gas with her husband until retirement. Faye always enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, growing her own vegetables, crafting, cooking, and was never afraid to tackle a new project. She will be missed by us all and will be forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Louie; three children Robert L. Malenfant and his wife Stephanie (Sulinski), Michael A. Malenfant and wife Penny (Irvine) and Lynn M. (Malenfant) Perry and her husband Frank; three grandchildren Adam Michael Malenfant, Cody Nathaniel Malenfant, and Erika Faye Malenfant; 1 great grandchild Cameron Sylvester; brother Allan Nicholson of Idaho. She was predeceased by 3 brothers Neil, Elwood “Joe”, and Malcolm Nicholson and a sister Eva (Nicolson) McKewen.
A celebration of her life gathering will be held 4-7PM Thursday at Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town. Spring burial will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
