Marie Joyce Willette

Marie J. Willette, 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep, March 30, 2022, at her home in Milford. She was born in Milford, October 30, 1941, the daughter of Harry I. and Ida L. (Treadwell) Whiting.

Marie was a graduate of Old Town High School, Class of 1960. Following high school, Marie was employed by the University of Maine, where she worked for 37 years. She retired in 2005 as an Accounting Supervisor. Marie was an active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Bradley and at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Catholic Church. Marie was also a member of the Red Hat Society and was very active in planning the Class of 1960’s reunions.

Marie loved to do her word searches or sit and watch “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!” She kept busy crocheting or cooking and loved to share her talents with her family. Everyone who met Marie could tell she had an amazing sense of humor. Marie was a loving mother and grandmother; she attended as many of her grandchildren’s sports functions as she could.

In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband, Richard J. Willette; and her daughter, Lori Anne (Willette) Pete; sister, Janis Poage; and brother, Milton "Mickey" Whiting. She is survived by her children, Theresa “Terri” Libby, Jeffrey Willette, and Kevin Willette; grandchildren, Krystyna, Daniel, Makayla, Allissa and Cody; great grandchildren, Kinsley, Colton and Brynnleigh. She is also survived by her brother, Harry Whiting and wife, Joyce; sister, Neola Preble and husband, Carl; sisters in law, Mary Whiting, Evelyn Desmond, Charlene Brooks, and Lois Hogan and husband, William; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A mass will be celebrated, 10 am, Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Parish of the Resurrection, St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Bradley. Relatives and friends are invite to share a light luncheon following the service.
