

Sharon will be fondly remembered as a kind and gentle soul who was extremely humble and thankful for all she had. She enjoyed needlepoint, cross stitch, crocheting and knitting. She was a hardworking woman and was employed at Old Town Shoe Shops for over 40 years and the last ten years of her working career was at Acadia Hospital and was by her husband’s side doing firewood and lawn work. She enjoyed flowers and her flower box. Sharon and Damon enjoyed car trips to various places. She was a longtime active member of the Alton Methodist Church and the Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed family gatherings and reunions and will be remembered for her baked beans.
She is survived by four children, Ricky Young and his wife, Darlene, of Alton, Randy Young and his wife, Linda, of Alton, Robin Nicholas and her husband, David, of Searsport and Ronda Jackson and her husband, Al, of Bloomingdale, GA; nine grandchildren, Ryan Young, Cory Young, Danielle Pelletier, Jenna Young, Jubel Goody, Derek Brown, Meaghan Geroux, Keith Larby and Mitchell Larby; four great-granddaughters, Kathryn Robinson, Claire Goody, Lillianna and Riley Lewey; two sisters Jeannie Michaud and her husband Chester and Valerie McKenney and brother Dewey Ellingwood and his wife Theresa.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years Damon H Young on March 4, 2015; seven siblings Katheryne McLeod, Guy Ellingwood Jr., Lorna Young, Sonny Ellingwood, Clayton Ellingwood, Reginald Ellingwood, and dale Ellingwood.
Services will be announced spring/ summer of 2023.
